Matthew was once a poor artist—
until a mysterious pencil changed everything he touched into gold.
From gallery fame to mountains of wealth,
his dreams came true with every stroke.
But in the silence of his studio,
he realized he’d drawn everything but joy.
What he needed wasn’t success—
but the spark that first made him draw.
This reflective picture book invites readers of all ages
to ask what truly matters: wealth, or the passion behind each line we draw.

🖼️ A Peek Inside the Book
Take a look at the charming illustrations that bring the story to life.
Matthew had made a lot of money, so how could he feel so empty inside? He had forgotten that he had lost something important.
The pencil is the link between Matthew's past and his future. The pencil enriches Matthew's life, and it also makes him realize what he lacks.
🛠️ Behind the Story
As we go through life, we sometimes realize—
our dreams have quietly faded, replaced by the pursuit of money, power, or simply survival.
When creating this book, I wanted to ask a simple question:
Where is your dream now?
Looking back, I see that I, too, had forgotten mine.
Not because I chased wealth or status,
but because I was busy keeping up with life itself.
And yet, in the process of making books,
my old dream—to become a novelist—began to stir again.
Right now, I’m making children’s books.
But perhaps, one day, I’ll find myself writing stories just for me.
Matthew’s Magic Pencil isn’t just a picture book.
I hope it inspires children to think about their dreams—
and reminds grown-ups to pause, reflect, and maybe even rediscover theirs.
That, I believe, is the true magic of this pencil.
